The '04 Blades look for their first title of the year at AAA State
Watch out for O and S Cattle at AAA State
YHH will launch its first ever AAA State tournament in mid-August at Bloomington Ice Garden. AAA State is our attempt at crowning a state champion for elite AAA programs from all over the state of hockey.
Our event promises to be a great experience for the players, coaches and fans. A player friendly tournament complete stats and photographed player profiles, first game helmet-less intros, team photos and a state championship trophy for each level.
Like all YHH events, the arena will be rocking, social media will be buzzing and kids will be glad they came.
At the completion of the event, YHH will choose its All-State team and tourney MVP for each level. If you can't be in Bloomington, tune in to YHH and watch games live or on archive.
Here is a look at the teams set to play (note: still taking a spot or two for '06).
'03 Steeldogs Tristan Tabucol and Tyler Haskins are hard to stop
William Whitelaw will skate for the '05 Miracle Gold at AAA State
Here are five names who will be in Bloomington that need no introduction and are fun to watch:
Tyler Haskins ('03 Steeldogs) - '15 Wiz Wyatt Winner is the straw that stirs the drink for the Dogs.
Layten Liffrig ('03 Ice Clams) - great hockey talent and great athlete - won the YHH Major Combine overall point title, shares the puck well.
Luke Mittelstadt ('03 Jr. Crosby's) - arguably the best '03 D-man in the state...greatest skill is moving the puck out of his own zone.
Zam Plante ('04 Lake Superior Stars) - gritty two-way player with a very high hockey IQ handed down from grampa Bruce.
William Whitelaw ('05 Miracle Gold) - reminds YHH of Zach Parise when he was young...great skill and a very high compete level on both ends of the rink.
Austin Burnevik was an army of 1 last weekend in the Hometown Summer Classic
Austin Burnevik ('05 Miracle Gold) - a human goal scoring machine, great physical tools for a tall/longer player.
Parker Comstock ('04 Euro Red) - flashy forward from Sartell, makes plays with and without puck...needs to be contained on every shift.
Ty Hanson ('05 Lake Superior Stars) - coached him in The Show, has a great coachable attitude and fun guy to have in the locker room. Works harder than his opponent on every shift.
Owen Hendrikson ('04 Tommy Chicago) - big defenseman who can take over a game with his feet and hands. Fun player to watch when the game is on the line.
Steffen Twins ('04 Miracle Gold) - Landon and Luke are two players that are making a slow rise into the elite level of MN players. Each has great skill and a very good compete level for players this young.
Max Zupfer ('03 Steeldogs) - when the Steeldogs formed, it is rumored they used Max as their prototype...Zupfer is strong as steel and relentless to the puck.
