Matt Gleason nets 2 for Penguins in their 6-3 win

The Flyers and Blackhawks battled hard in the first game of the Bantam Elite season in Moorhead. Despite several quality chances, both teams struggled to solve either team's goalies.

The Flyers capitalized on their chances scoring twice in the first half on rebound goals by Griffin Streeter and Moose Heffron. In the second half, Mark Overman found some nylon finding a wide open net after a scramble in front. The Hawks got a late goal to end Jon Howe's bid for a shutout when Brock Faber punched home a rebound.

The Bruins got a late goal by Ben Dexheimer to lift them to their first win 4-2 over the Kings in the Bantam Elite League. With the score tied and the Kings pressuring, the Bruins gained the King's zone when Dexheimer fired a quick shot on net that beat King's goalie Conner Nelsen.

Shane Lavelle had two goals for the winners including the insurance empty netter. Austen Humphrey had a goal and two assists for the Bruins while Jacob Braccini had two goals, both assisted by his twin brother Tyler.

The Penguins erupted for three second half goals to beat the North Stars 6-3. The 2015 Wiz Wyatt winner Matt Gleason had two goals and two assists to pace the Penguins. With the score tied at 2-2, Noah Tussey scored his second goal of the game...the Stillwater forward had a great game.

Gleason got into the act when he stole the puck from a Stars defender and scored to give the Pens a lead they would not relinquish.

Jacob Braccini, Kings - an impressive talent who has great speed that attacks the play every time he hits the ice.

Matt Gleason, Penguins - talented playmaker that seems to never stop when he hits the ice. Had two goals and two assists.

Austen Humphrey, Bruins - had three points Friday, plays aggressive with and without the puck.

Nolan Krenzen, Stars - Great skater with good hands...isn't shy to take the play vertical.

Nathan Mueller, Bruins - got the W Friday stopping several surges by the Kings in the second half including the days best save on a big glove hander.

Mark Overman, Flyers - overpowers his opponents with his size and skill. Will give teams trouble all season in the BEL.

Noah Tussey, Penguins - had two goals Friday and several chances at a hat trick. Makes a lot of plays with the puck..will be fun to watch.
