Hayden Walters scores in Jefferson's 5-2 loss to Roseau on Friday
ROSEAU 5, JEFFERSON 2
Cole Spicer scored twice, and Roseau dominated the second half en route to a 5-2 victory to open the Boys Major division of the Peewee Classic.
The teams battled to a 2-2 tie after the first half, with Hayden Walters potting two goals for Jefferson and Spice netting his first for Roseau. Hogan Sinjem also scored in the first frame for the Rams.
Spicer opened the second half with his second score for Roseau, and with Trey Fechko following with a goal of his own less than eight minutes later. Gavin Lindberg scored an empty-netter for the Rams to ice the game. Roseau net-minder Alec Juenke blanked the Jaguars in the second half, turning away all 16 shots he faced.
JOHNSON 3, SOUTHWEST 1
Brody Lamb scored two goals and Anthony Madigan dished out two assists as Johnson edged Southwest 3-1. Isaac Howard added a goal for Johnson. Jaksen Panzer scored the lone goal for Southwest in the loss.
WARROAD 4, ROSEAU 2
Warroad scored three times in the second half to pull away from Roseau and earn the victory. Luke Savage swooped and swerved his way to two goals for the Warriors, with Kaden Nelson and Alexander Bump adding one goal each. Bump also had two assists in the win.
Dominic Thomas and Prescot Sexton scored for Roseau.

SOUTHWEST 6, JOHNSON 3
After skating to a 2-2 tie after one half, Southwest scored four times in the second frame to pull away for the victory.
Landen Gunderson and Gavyn Thoreson notched goals for Southwest in the first, with Colton Jamieson and Cooper Conway evening the score for Johnson.
Caden Hegarty gave the Governors a 3-2 lead early in the second frame, but Beckett Hendrickson knotted the score at three 46 seconds later.
Thoreson scored back-to-back goals to complete the Hatty for Southwest, and Jimmy Clark added a clincher late in the second half.
ROSEAU 7, WARROAD 6 (SO)
Austin Burnevik scored twice in regulation and once more in the shootout to lead Roseau to a thrilling 7-6 win in a shootout of over Warroad.
Warroad took a 4-2 lead after the first half, getting goals from Braydon Beahm, Tanner Ludtke and two from Zam Plante. Charlie Owens and Burnevik scored for Roseau in the first half.
Burnevik kicked off the second half with a goal for Roseau, and Trey Gnetz followed with a goal a minute later.
SOUTHWEST 9, JEFFERSON 4
Southwest scored seven times in the second half on their way to a dominant opening round victory over Jefferson.
Landen Gunderson and Jack Sweeney recorded Hattys for Southwest, and Gunderson passed out two assists.
Tommy Cronin, Gavyn Thoreson and Jimmy Clark also posted goals for Southwest.
Ty Tucitto scored a goal and had two assists for Jefferson, which also got goals from Finn Brink, Jay Ellingson and Zachary Nehring.
Alyssa Watkins impressed in Friday's win over Warroad
JEFFERSON 4, WARROAD 0
Jefferson’s Suzy Higuchi converted a pass from Sloane Matthews in the first half, and in the second the Jaguars broke the game open, scoring three times and shutting out Warroad in the Girls division opener.
Taylor Koeppl scored early in the second half for Jefferson, and Morgan Wohlers added a pair of goals just over three minutes apart to cement the victory for the Jaguars. Hannah Skavnak turned away 10 shots for the Jags to earn the shutout.
SOUTHWEST 4, JOHNSON 1
Vivian Jungels paced Southwest to a decisive victory over Johnson, scoring two goals and recording an assist in the process. Sadie Lindsay and Talia Christman added goals for Southwest in the win.
Alejandra Franco scored the lone goal for Johnson in the loss. Umalena Corniea turned in a solid performance between the pipes for Southwest in the second half, stopping all 11 shots she faced.
ROSEAU 3, WARROAD 2
Roseau pulled out the win in the shootout, getting goals from Alyssa Watkins and Danielle Brunette in the one-on-one session.
Brynne Folden and Watkins scored during regulation for the Rams.
Whitney Tuttle and Julia Stevens scored in the loss for the Warriors.
