Huge statistical performances were the theme of the first day of the Buffalo Showcase, with several players putting up big numbers. 

Nick Pierre of the MN Fire officially leads all players with nine points, scoring three goals in the Fire's 4-2 win over Pittsburgh Penguins Elite and five times in the afternoon matchup against the Don Mills Flyers. 

JoJo Dable had a big day for the Mid-Fairfield Jr. Rangers, Frank Nazar of Honeybaked was impressive, and Gavin Brindley of the Florida Alliance dazzled with his skills and speed. 

Three teams escaped Day 1 with perfect 2-0-0 records, with the MN Fire, Jr. Rangers, and Chicago Young Americans all emerging unscathed.

Also coming out of Day 1 without a loss were Detroit Honeybaked and the Florida Alliance, who both went 1-0-1 after tying 5-5 in arguably the day's most exciting contest. 

Austin Tasca, South Shore Kings

Tasca is a pest on the ice for opponents, coupling great speed with relentless offensive pressure.

Sydney Morrow, Mid-Fairfield Jr. Rangers

Possibly the most complete defender in the showcase, Morrow's skating and good decisions with the puck make her stand out. 

Cole Lonsdale, Mississauga Rebels

A bright spot on Friday for the Rebels, Lonsdale is a unique force in the neutral zone with his passing acumen. 

Frank Nazar, Detroit Honeybaked

Nazar has an knack for being in the right place on the ice, and can finish when he gets the chance.

Brennan Ali, Chicago Young Americans

A hard-working grinder, Ali rarely gets beat in the corners and is tough to push off the puck. 

Rutger McGroarty, Detroit Honeybaked

Simply a threat wherever he is on the ice. Incredibly quick hands.

Michael Karvelas, LA Jr. Kings

Puck-rushing defenseman who can break open a game with his speed.

Grant Babcock, Detroit Honeybaked

Rock-solid, makes the right plays, and is rarely caught out of position. Effective stay-at-home defender.
