If you’re a hockey fan starved for quality play, you may want to check out the locations of the Minnesota Meltdown tournament, presented by Showcase Hockey. 

Numerous AAA teams will flood into the northern suburbs this weekend, with 2003’s, 2004’s, 2005’s and 2006’s taking the ice in New Hope, South St. Paul and Brooklyn Park respectively. 

Among the out-of-state teams headlining the various levels will be ’04 Team Southeast Elite, featuring the high-flying Gavin Brindley and the Colorado Kodiaks, who always bring a talented group to the Land of Ten-Thousand Rinks at each level. 

Another team that could rock the boat will be the 2004 Minnesota Blades, who will compete at the 2003 level and could give the older teams a run for their money at New Hope Ice Arena.
