Penguins March To Victory

The Minnesota Penguins jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the first period en route to a 4-1 win over the Nashville Jr. Predators to close out the North American Future Prospects tournament on Monday afternoon in Blaine.

Lars Olson, Tyler Lunderby and Jack Evans all tallied goals in the first frame, as Nashville found itself spending significant time in the penalty box and allowing the Penguins to score once with the man-advantage and dominate time of possession.

The Jr. Predators got on the board in the second, as Phillip Parisian netted his first goal of the tournament to pare the Penguin lead down to 3-1.

A final goal from Evans in the third period would cement the win for the Penguins, with assists going to Olson and Riley Andres. Evans and Matt Fischer both finished the tournament with nine points, tops in the 18-Under Division.

Tommy Chicago Slips Past Minnesota Blades

Despite playing with only 10 skaters and one goalie, Tommy Chicago managed to pull out the win over the 15U Minnesota Blades in the NAFP's 16-Under Division title game.

Cole Cavanaugh scored the game-winner in overtime, hauling in a beautiful breakout pass from James Miller before ripping a shot past Bennett Weestrand for the game-winner.

Zach Michaelis of the Blades and Austen Humphrey of Tommy Chicago led the division in scoring with 11 and nine points respectively heading into Monday's championship game.

Austen Humphrey paced the 16U champion Tommy Chicago with six goals and nine points entering Monday's championship game.
