Co-Operative Programs Take Center Stage

Through two days of competition, the 15UA field is being paced by a pair of co-operative programs from Minnesota. 

Proctor-Hermantown sits atop Pool D with a 2-0 record, having beaten the NWC Riverhawks 9-1 and the Brookings (SD) Rangers 11-0 on Friday. The Mirage also scored a semifinal win over the Blackcats 9-0, outscoring their three opponents by a margin of 29-1. 

 The Mirage will face the Blackcats in Sunday’s semifinals, while Champlin Park-Coon Rapids will square off with the Bantam A Queens of Thunder Bay (OT). 

Pacing the 12UA level is a trio of Minnesota squads and the Brookings (SD) Rangers, with all four teams posting 2-0 record after Saturday’s slate of games. Burnsville earned its second win of the tournament on Saturday with a 5-1 victory over the Queens of Thunder Bay (OT), following a win over Elk River by a score of 8-1 on Friday. 

Anoka-Rogers cruised past Bismarck (ND) 7-0 on Friday and thumped Proctor-Hermantown 5-2 on Saturday. Avery Achterkirch led the way with two goals in the win over Proctor-Hermantown, while Ava Johansson, Morgan Poirier, and Molly Rooks each tailed one goal in the win. Anoka-Rogers will face undefeated Orono-Westonka in Sunday’s semifinal. 

Orono-Westonka slipped past Shakopee 2-0 and shut out the Duluth Icebreakers 5-0 in its two games thus far. 
Brookings (SD) enters the semifinal round after convincing wins over Champlin Park-Coon Rapids and Chaska-Chanhassen by scores of 6-0 and 4-1 respectively.

Anoka-Rogers, Roseville, Apple Valley-Burnsville are all currently undefeated at the 10UA level, with Anoka-Rogers at 4-0 and the Raiders and the Eagles/Blaze each at 3-0.

Impressively, Anoka-Rogers has yet to surrender a goal through four games, posting shutouts over Elk River, Mahtomedi, Minneapolis, and Chaska-Chanhassen. Anoka-Rogers has outscored those four opponents 15-0. 

Apple Valley-Burnsville has two shutouts under its belt, with wins over Glenview (IL) 3-0 and Champlin Park-Coon Rapids 1-0. The Eagles/Blaze downed Shakopee 3-1 in their last game on Saturday night. Roseville will meet the Eagles/Blaze in the Pool B rubber match after scoring wins over Shakopee (6-2), Champlin Park-Coon Rapids (4-3), and Glenview (IL) 5-1.
