Play at Mariucci concludes, three-on-three replaces five-on-five.

Grey's T.J. Gibson (10) scores the eventual game-winning goal on Friday morning.

White Claims Five-on-Five Crown

Six different skaters scored as Grey topped Maroon in thrilling fashion by a score of 6-4 on Friday morning at Mariucci Arena.

The teams played to a 3-3 draw before Grey took a 5-3 lead on goals by Ty Henricks and T.J. Gibson, setting the table for a ferocious comeback attempt by Maroon. Trey Gnetz pulled Maroon within one at 5-4, but Grey held off the late charge and escaped with the win, aided by an empty-net insurance goal by Charlie Olsen.

Harper Bentz, Jay Ellingson, and Kyle Henke tallied single goals for Grey, while Lucas Iverson, Beck Picconatto, and Carter Krenke marked the scoresheet for Maroon.

While the first game of the morning amped the drama to a climax, game two deflated the dramatic balloon, as White cruised to a 9-2 win over Gold to go a perfect 3-0 in five-on-five play.

Ty Tuccitto, Mikey Mason, Tanner Ludtke, Wyatt Olson, and Landen Gunderson scored in succession to stake White a 5-0 lead early in the first half, a stretch only interrupted by goals from Gold's Tate Pritchard and Kyle Ahlschlager.

After Gold's broke its scoreless streak, White resumed its onslaught, tacking on four more goals by Ludtke, Tuccitto, Gunderson, and John Novak. En route to the title, White outscored its three opponents by a combined score of 24-8.
