A New Chapter

Auston Matthews. Steven Stamkos. Jonathan Toews. P.K. Subban.

Outside of being National Hockey League superstars, all four players are members of an exclusive club, as alumni of the Brick Invitational.

Since 1990, the Brick has been the benchmark tournament for 10-year-old hockey players from across North America, bringing together talent and teamwork for a week of games at the West Edmonton Mall.

The tournament features 14 teams, seven from the United States and seven from the various Canadian provinces. The teams compete in either the Wigston or the Styles conference, named after two of the event’s key volunteers in Andy Wigston and Craig Styles.

Last year, the Toronto Bulldogs edged the British Columbia Junior Canucks 6-5 in an overtime thriller, as the teams added their own illustrious chapter the rich history of the Brick.

YHH will be at the West Edmonton Mall this year. Tony Scott will have on-site photos and reports each day.

What will this year’s crop of players add to the story?
