Game One: Kings 7, Bruins 4

Last weekend, the Kings showcased their individual scoring punch, as Isaac Howard and Connor Kurth accounted for 25 total points in just four games. On Wednesday night, the scoring depth of the Kings took its place in the spotlight, as seven players tallied goals in a 7-4 win over the Bruins.

August Falloon, Hogan Sinjem, Kevin Odluag, and Kurth all notched goals in the first half for the Kings, as the boys in gray opened up a 4-1 lead over the Bruins in the first half. Barrett Hall scored the lone goal for the Bruins in the first frame.

Each team would score three times in the second half, as the Bruins made a spirited attempt at a comeback. Luke Jech pulled the Bruins within two goals at 4-2 early in the second before Ethan Mus stretched the Kings' lead back to three with a goal. Hall scored his second for the Bruins, answered by the Kings' Sam Janskey.

With exactly one minute left in regulation, Drew Fisher pulled the Bruins within two for the second time in the game, a spark extinguished by a late goal from the Kings' Anthony Madigan.

Game Two: Penguins 2, Sharks 1

Undaunted after an opening loss at the hands of Great Plains last weekend, the Penguins continued their hot streak on Wednesday, handing the Sharks their first loss in a 2-1 defensive battle.

Edina's own Waytt Wurst and Willy Johnson spotted the Penguins a 2-0 lead after the first half, with Trevor Boschee standing tall between the pipes while recording 15 saves.

Hayden Walters put the Sharks on the board in the second, but the comeback attempt was quickly snuffed out by timely defensive plays by the Penguins blue-liners. Liam Sebek made an impressive 16 saves on 17 shots to preserve the win for the Penguins. Christian Manz stopped 25 shots in the second for the Sharks in the hard-luck loss.
