The Da Beauty League season started perfectly for BIC. Literally.

Paced by two of the league's top-scoring duos in Brock Boeser and Brock Nelson, BIC started the summer slate a sparkling 4-0, before crashing and burning its way to three straight one-goal losses.

Following a regular-season finale win, BIC topped TRIA 7-5 in the semifinals before the championship game against Velocity Hockey. The first period concluded with the score just 1-1, a far cry from the inflated totals seen throughout the regular season and the first round of the playoffs. Brock Nelson was the goal-scorer in the first half for BIC.

BIC netted two goals in the second half to pull away from Velocity Hockey, with Brock Boeser and Nate Schmidt helping ice the win. Boeser and Schmidt's clutch goals, coupled with rock-solid goaltending by Alex Stalock, enabled BIC to hold off a late charge by Velocity Hockey.

Jordan Schroeder scored the lone goal for Velocity Hockey in the loss, his 10th goal of the DBL season. Velocity Hockey entered the playoffs with a 7-2 record, good for best in the league before Wednesday.

BIC's Brock Boeser notched a goal in Wednesday's win. Boeser finished with a DBL-high 16 goals and 34 points.
