Great Plains took home the Bantam Elite League championship with a 1-0 win over the Bruins on Aug. 25 at Ridder Arena.
Cole Spicer, Team North Dakota
Despite missing three games during the league's weekend in St. Cloud, Spicer registered 15 goals and 23 points in just 11 appearances for Team North Dakota. Spicer's 23 points were good for fourth overall in the BEL. Spicer was never held off the scoresheet in the games that he played, teaming with Jaksen Panzer and Owen Hanson to form one of the league's most potent forward lines.
What doesn't show up on the scoresheet, and what makes Spicer a complete player, is his commitment to defense. Defensemen were consistent victims of his patented stick-lift, and opposing forwards felt him breathing down their neck during most breakout sequences. Those scenes replicated themselves numerous times throughout the course of the Bantam Elite League season and cemented Spicer's place as much more than a one-dimensional player.
Cole Spicer was named Bantam Elite League Most Valuable Player after totaling 15 goals and 23 points in just 11 games.

Connor McClure (right) totaled three goals and five points in the North Stars' last two games of the BEL season.
Luke Jech, Bruins
Jech's motor never sputtered throughout four weeks of play, as the speedy forward and Lakeville North product consistently disrupted opposing team's breakouts and pressured the puck.
Landen Gunderson, Great Plains
Gunderson filled in for Great Plains for 11 games, totaling four goals and 12 points while playing both forward and out-of-position on the blue line. Arguably one of the league's best players, regardless of age, during the St. Cloud weekend, where he scored two goals and handed out five assists.
Aiden Braun, Kings
As steady as any defender in the league, Braun rarely made mistakes with the puck and held strong on the blue line in the offensive zone. The rangy skater upped his play during the playoffs.
Gavin Blomdahl, North Stars
Blomdahl quietly chugged his way to six goals and 15 points for the North Stars, showcasing true grit in the offensive zone and winning the majority of his battles along the boards.
Luke Jech, Bruins.
Logan Dosan, Penguins
Despite missing multiple games due to injury and playing in a six-man defensive rotation, Dosan managed to lead the Penguins in assists with eight and ranked among the league's highest-scoring defenders.
Finn Loftus, Sharks
Loftus pounded his way to eight points for the Sharks while playing forward, a transition from his typical position on defense. Loftus may have saved his best performance for the biggest stage, scoring a goal and adding an assist while flying all over the ice in the Sharks' semifinal loss to Great Plains.
Jacob Grandstrand, Team North Dakota
While the forward trio of Team North Dakota's may have garnered the most attention, the puck-moving Grandstrand played a key role in the team's quality showing during the BEL season. In addition to guiding Team North Dakota's breakouts, Grandstrand played lock-down defense on some of the league's best players. Played through injury and lined up at both forward and defense.
John Nafe, Team Wisconsin
No, the goaltender's numbers aren't sparkling. But time after time, game after game, Nafe showed up and played his tail off, posting some impressive performances along the way. Among those performances, Nafe stopped 35 of 39 shots in an early loss to the Penguins (Aug. 4) and rejected 23 of 26 shots against the Bruins (Aug. 18).
Logan Dosan led the Penguins in assists with eight as a defenseman. He finished with 9 total points.
